Veterans at Mount Tamborine Golf Club have a competitive, enjoyable and social atmosphere. We play a full competition every Wednesday with a shotgun start at 7.30am - 8.00am in the winter months. At all events male and female visitors with AGU handicap are welcome. We accommodate all levels of golfers in A, B and C grade who are over 55 years of age. The Vets are also the source for most of the volunteer labour who make this beautiful and challenging course a must place to play golf.

New Life Member in 2014, Peter Clarke, congratulations from all the Vets

Clubhouse companionship
After the game, a time for catching up with fellow vets, exchanging your success or otherwise from the morning session while the match committee ponders over the days results extracting the winning names. Presentation is fun and more that the odd joke is shared. Guest speakers are regular part of our after play activity with relevant subject matters for Vets. Raffles and prizes contribute to our annual Christmas party. The clubhouse is fully licensed and serves light snacks. Our Pro Shop provides a range of golfing equipment including hire clubs and buggies

Meet our OBE’s (Over Bloody Eighties)
The rarified air of Mount Tamborine has been said to be partly responsible for the number of aged but capable vets members who on a good day can “shoot their age” Notably Ian Grimsley. Other OBE's are, Jonno Johnson, Peter Fields and Phil Salisbury. Each is social proof that golf is the game you play all of your life.

Over 55, semi retired or retired golfer Although most of the present Vets playing group at Mount Tamborine are retired or semi-retired, the Wednesday comp welcomes those who may be working part-time, or can manipulate their work/recreation time. If you’re a local resident and not a member, call in for a complimentary game and experience the fun of being a Mountain Veteran golfer. Traveling AGU Vets are also most welcome to join the competition. The club has a range of membership options
